BlockTac with the European companies participating in the EIC Corporate Day with AB InBev

We are very grateful to ABInvBev and ECI for the successful meeting organized in Leuven on February 19 and 20. The EIC Corporate Day with AB InBev (EIC: European Innovation Council, an institution of the European Commission to support the commercialization of high-risk and high-impact technologies; AB InBev: Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewing company) represented for BlockTac the opportunity to expose its innovative developments in a forum of extraordinary quality.

The EIC Corporate Day is a tailor-made and highly effective acceleration service to facilitate collaboration between large corporates and EIC-funded SMEs. Nearly 100 senior leaders within AB InBev welcomed selected startups and scaleups from 14 countries that presented innovative technologies in circular economy, smart energy, urban mobility and digital solutions.

BlockTac, stood out for being the only company that presented developments with Blockchain technology.

We were able to demonstrate how our digital seals can be applied massively in a consumer product such as beer.

In a practical way, the participants were able to verify how it is possible to fight against counterfeits (which also occur in this industry) and put in the hands of consumers a simple and immediate way to verify the authenticity of the product.

Other features that we incorporate into the seals were also revealed, such as protecting the manufacturer from irregular behaviors carried out by agents of the distribution channel (the so-called “nuclear button”), the health alert that facilitates the warning and recovery of unsuitable products for consumption, and direct marketing to facilitate knowledge and bonding with each consumer.

These are the same functionalities that we have developed to solve the problems of manufacturers of very diverse food and consumer products:

  • Forgery with fake products.
  • Products diverted to the grey market.
  • Product tampering and food contamination or poisoning.

And all this while responding to the behavioral changes observed in consumers committed to digital technologies and the predominance of distribution centers that exert significant pressure on manufacturers and producers.

ABIn Bev proved to be committed to addressing those common challenges in its industry. And BlockTac solutions to ensure the authenticity and traceability are consistent with a good number of ABIn Bev’s corporate principles, particularly those of quality, togetherness, freshness, transparency, innovation and simplicity.

We trust to be able in the near future to implant BlockTac seals in a product such as beer with the aim of contributing to:

  • Customer engagement and bonding with each one of them.
  • Brand differentiation from competitors.
  • And stronger bargaining power in front of the supply chain and retailers.
